Families come in many different shapes and sizes- each of which has its own unique dynamic. I greatly enjoy the work I do with families in the South Metro Denver area who are dealing with challenging circumstances. A couple areas in which I specialize in family counseling work are the following:

Blended families create unique challenges for parents as they try to balance their lives together as a couple while incorporating children from previous marriages. I work with these families to help them learn how to navigate the unique circmstances of uniting children from previous marriages, and learning how to manage the challenges that come with being a step parent.
Difficulty in parent-child relationships
Sometimes relationships can become strained between a parent or parents and their children when members of the family go through new and often stressful phases of their lives. I help families to improve or re-establish healthy relationships and learn effective communication skills that nurture both the individuals and the overall family unit.
